The Swedish gambling and gaming operator, Svenska Spel, launches its new sportsbook for retail and online. The sportsbook allows players even more functionality thanks to it being powered by DraftKings. Some of these features include bet building, a wider variety of payment options, and cash out such as those used in Pay and Play Casinos.
The agreement covers all of the Swedish operator’s online, mobile, and retail outlets and has been in the making since 2019 when they first signed.
Svenska Spel’s head of product for sports betting, Dan Korhonen, stated the company’s pride in being able to offer players these new features. He also states that Svenska Spel “will continue to offer competitive odds together with fixed betting limits”.
The Swedish company must feel some form of relief after their rough start to 2021, being handed a lawsuit against them from ATG. The new sportsbook brings a more positive outlook onto the year ahead for the Swedish gaming company.
In a quote by DraftKings’ chief international officer Shay Berka, the company is ready to improve the experience in Sweden alongside Svenska Spel, as the country’s leading operator.
DraftKings’ award-winning sportsbook tech leads the global industry and will certainly help expand Svenska Spel’s capabilities locally.
Just last year, DraftKings released live streaming capability for its app. In a world that undergoes patterns of lockdown and with strict rules regarding movement, it could be quite profitable for this tech to reach players in Sweden.
The new sportsbook features provided by DraftKings will keep players occupied and hyped for each race. With this launch, it will be exciting to see how the features are used in the country and how both service providers will improve the tech.
DraftKings’ shares rose by 1.35% after this announcement.
